UIF’s Media Mentoring provides media education through in-person and virtual workshops. Our media mentors bring extensive industry experience to help students and educators master writing, branding, video production, and social media. Media workshops can be customized for high school and college classrooms.
UIF’s Media Mentoring team provides media consulting to entrepreneurs and nonprofits who want to refine their message, branding, and multimedia offerings.

Meet the team of Media Mentors with UIF and UIF REC Studio
Lucy Lopez
Chief Communications Officer
Lucy brings more than 20 years of journalism and strategic communications management to UIF. Most recently, she designed and launched UIF REC Studio, to mentor local entrepreneurs and students. Fore more than 15 years, Lucy worked as a reporter and anchor in Canada for CTV News, Corus Entertainment, and CBC News in Toronto – Canada’s largest media market – where she covered local and national stories. Lucy holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ryerson University. She says, her high school English Media teacher encouraged her to pursue a career in Journalism.
Mike Wroblewski
Assistant Director
Mike brings more than 25 years of experience in many disciplines of Graphic Design to UIF. He has worked in video production within the healthcare, nonprofit, and technology industries and enjoys sharing his design knowledge with the UIF community. Mike holds a BA in Graphic Design from Drexel University. He says, the owner of a local animation company mentored him in traditional design methods. In exchange, Mike taught him newer digital methods.
